The Scottish Kempo
Academy was founded by
Kyoshi Neil
Hourston who introduced
Kempo to Scotland.
Kyoshi is a Japanese
term meaning
'Accomplished Master.'
Kyoshi hails from the
Orkney Islands,
Scotland, and lives in
the town of Tain, which
is Scotland's oldest
Royal Burgh. Kyoshi is one of a
few full-time
Professional Martial
Arts instructors in the
UK and is Director and
Chief Coach of our
Academy.
Kyoshi commenced study of the Martial Arts in 1985, he is Founder of the Yoshin Kempo system and holds the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt Master instructor in the art. He is also a 7th Degree Black Belt Master instructor in JuJitsu and has received numerous awards from international instructors including his current Kempo and JuJitsu ranks signed by 30 Masters and Grandmasters of the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society.
Kyoshi is
Founder of the World Martial
Arts Society, and a member of
various Martial Arts
organisations.
